In a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy session, you can typically expect the following:

Check-In & Intention Setting: Before the treatment begins, I will check in with you to see how you are feeling and what your intentions are for the session.

A Massage Table In A Safe & Comfortable Space: You'll lie down fully clothed on my massage table in a quiet, secure, and relaxed environment.

A Hands-On But Non-Manipulative Treatment: I will move around your body, putting her hands lightly on various “holds,” such as your cranium, sacrum, or feet. I may ask for your help to reach specific holds if I cannot access them. You can stop me at any time or ask me to move my hands if you are not feeling comfortable.

Listening to Your Body: Both client and practitioner are observing and feeling sensations in the body to increase somatic and interoceptive awareness. You may feel things like a light pulsing, throbbing, tension, tingling, spiraling shapes, swells of energy, lightness and spaciousness. This is one way our innate wisdom communicates what is going on with our health and well-being.

As sessions progress, I help you to learn to feel and sense your body's rhythms, sensations, and signals. I invite you to use relaxation and somatic practices to support your nervous system in becoming more healthy, settled, and whole. Don't worry if you find them challenging, as you can signal me to stop. Bear in mind that they get easier with practice.

Facilitating Self-Regulation: BCST aims to support the body's natural healing and regenerative processes. When the nervous system feels safe, it begins to settle often into deep states of relaxation and spaciousness to accelerate healing.

Integrating & Processing: After the treatment, I will help you check in with yourself to see how you are feeling. I may encourage you to spend time processing the experience in the hours and days after the treatment. It is usually a good idea not to plan a stressful meeting or meet-up until an hour or so after the session. Staying hydrated is also a good idea.

After-Session Wellbeing: As your body and mind reorganize themselves after the treatment, you may well feel more positive shifts occurring as your mind-body integrates the session.

Follow-Up: I may recommend self-care practices to support your health and healing and follow-up sessions if I sense they will be of use.
